Job Description

FUNCTIONAL ROLE
: The role of this position is to serve as a fabricator, machinist and welder on projects requiring steel and/or aluminum fabrication, and be able to assist wood shop when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
:
Education:
H.S. Diploma. Minimum of 2 year's experience in metal shop fabrication.
JOB TASKS AND DUTIES
  • Ability to operate shop
Machines:
  • Bridgeport Manual milling machines
  • Manual Metal lathe
  • Hydraulic Brake Press
  • Horizontal and vertical Bandsaws
  • Metal cutting chop saws
  • Iron worker
  • Welding Machines:
    MIG and TIG
  • Drill Press
  • Ability to read and fabricate from shop drawings
  • Ability to take Parts from fabrication stage to paint ready with precision welding, grinding and sanding. Good metal finishing abilities required.
  • Strong Basic Math skills
  • Ability to work with other people as a team
  • Must be able to weld various metals and alloys using
MIG, TIG
with functional and presentable looking weld beads.
  • Must be proficient at TIG welding Aluminum
  • Machine and assemble metal components as required.
  • Proficient in layout, drilling, countersinking, tapping, fixturing
  • Measures work piece for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
  • Problem solve and evaluate engineering details with Design and Detailing Departments
  • Plan and adhere to the schedule and budgeted hours given by the Project Manager.
  • Maintain work area in a safe and orderly fashion.
