Serving the Civil, Hydro, Oil & Gas, and custom fabrication industries. We are an AISC, API, ASME, and WABO certified facility. With over 85 years in the industry, we have a reputation for producing some of the highest quality fabricated products on the West Coast. Previous experience as a fitter will be prioritized. This position is available for Day shift 6:30AM-3:00PM Mon-Fri, with optional overtime opportunities. Competitive wages start ranging between $32.76 and $38.88 an hour. •All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment physical.•
Job Summary:
Thompson Metal Fab (TMF) is seeking an experienced Aluminum Welder to join our team. This role is responsible for welding aluminum components using MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) processes in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements. The pay grade range is Fabricator 3 - Fabricator 1, based on experience and skill level.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum materials following drawings and welding procedures. Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper parameters for aluminum welding. Fit and position aluminum parts accurately before welding, using jigs and fixtures as needed. Inspect welds to ensure they meet

aluminum welding standards. Work collaboratively with fabricators, fitters, and supervisors to meet project deadlines. Operate grinders, saws, and other metalworking tools to prepare and finish aluminum parts. Maintain a safe and organized workspace, following all company and industry safety standards. Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and tools. Assist with other fabrication tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
1+ years of aluminum welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Ability to pass an aluminum welding test. Proficiency in TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) aluminum welding techniques. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with basic metal fabrication tools. Preferred (but not required): Experience welding to
AWS D1.2
aluminum code or similar standards. Prior experience in structural or heavy aluminum fabrication. Forklift and overhead crane experience.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and work in awkward positions.
Work Environment:
Industrial fabrication shop with exposure to heat, noise, metal dust, and welding fumes.
Safety Gear:
Required use of PPE such as welding helmets, gloves, and respirators when necessary.
Schedule:
Full-time position with potential for overtime and shift work as needed.
