READ BEFORE APPLYING
This is a 100% commission-based sales position. Lancon provides company-generated opportunities, marketing, estimating and design support, CRM/project-management systems, production support, training, and mileage reimbursement. Your earning potential is directly tied to your performance. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable betting on their ability to build relationships, guide homeowners, and close high-value residential projects. A brief cover letter is required. Applications without one will not be considered. If you're looking for the security of a traditional salaried position, this probably isn't the right opportunity. If you're excited by uncapped earning potential and want to help build one of Northern California's most respected residential design-build companies, we'd love to meet you. The Opportunity Most construction companies compete on price. At Lancon, we're building something different. Imagine bringing the hospitality of Ritz-Carlton, the attention to detail of Apple, and the operational consistency of Chick-fil-A to residential construction. Our mission is to redefine what homeowners expect from the construction experience through extraordinary design, exceptional craftsmanship, and hospitality-inspired service. We're looking for a Build Advisor to help lead that experience. This isn't traditional high-pressure sales. You'll serve as part designer, part construction consultant, part problem-solver, and part trusted advisor—helping homeowners turn ideas into thoughtfully designed, buildable outdoor spaces. What You'll Do You'll own qualified opportunities from initial consultation through signed agreement.
You'll:
Meet homeowners at their properties and understand what they're trying to accomplish. Evaluate existing conditions and identify opportunities and constraints. Help clients establish realistic project budgets and priorities. Take site measurements and document project conditions. Help shape outdoor living concepts and scopes of work. Collaborate with our design, estimating, and construction teams. Present proposals and good/better/best options. Explain scope, materials, construction methods, and investment clearly. Follow up consistently and maintain your sales pipeline. Ask confidently for the business. Create organized handoffs to our production team after the sale. Develop referrals and neighborhood opportunities around active and completed projects. Projects may include complete backyard transformations, front yards, patios, pavers, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, lighting, irrigation, drainage, artificial turf, planting, and other outdoor living features. Who We're Looking For You don't necessarily need to come from landscaping. We're looking for someone who: Is an exceptional listener and communicator. Builds trust quickly. Is confident discussing significant investments with homeowners. Can balance design, budget, and practicality. Is organized and disciplined with follow-up. Is comfortable asking for the business without using pressure or gimmicks. Takes ownership of results. Has an eye for design and attention to detail. Is comfortable walking residential properties and active construction sites. Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Is comfortable using CRM and project-management software. Has approximately 2-5+ years of consultative sales experience. Experience in landscape construction, remodeling, home improvement, architecture, design-build, real estate, luxury sales, or another high-consideration service is especially helpful. Spanish-English bilingual ability is a plus. Compensation This is a 100% commission-based position. There is no base salary. Expected annual earnings are approximately $80,000-$200,000+ , depending on individual performance.
This position also includes:
401(k) Mileage reimbursement Company-generated opportunities Marketing support Design and estimating support CRM and project-management systems Professional development and training Direct access to company leadership Significant opportunity for advancement as Lancon grows Schedule This is a full-time, client-facing position based in Livermore, California. Local travel throughout Lancon's service area is required. Client appointments may occur Monday through Saturday, so schedule flexibility is important. Before You Apply Please include a brief cover letter answering these two questions: 1. Why does a 100% commission-based position appeal to you? 2. Why do you believe you would be successful as a Build Advisor at Lancon? We're not looking for a formal essay. Three to five thoughtful sentences is plenty. We're much more interested in why you intentionally chose this opportunity than receiving another generic cover letter. Applications submitted without a cover letter will not be considered.
