Salvo Pools is hiring a talented Landscape & Outdoor Living Designer to create complete, high-end outdoor environments. This role brings together pools, hardscape, landscaping, elevations, outdoor structures, lighting, and surrounding spaces into one cohesive design. What You'll Design Custom swimming pools and spas Complete backyard and outdoor-living concepts Landscape and planting layouts Paver, stone, and other hardscape areas Pool decks, patios, walkways and gathering spaces Pergolas, pavilions, shade structures, outdoor kitchens and entertainment areas Fire features, water features, outdoor lighting and privacy screening Small retaining walls, steps, terraces and elevation transitions Furniture and amenity placement Integration of the home, pool, landscape, and outdoor-living areas into one unified design Core Responsibilities

SITE & CONCEPT DESIGN

Review site information, surveys, photographs, measurements, architectural plans, and client requests. Develop creative concepts based on the property's opportunities, limitations, and the client's goals. Think through the entire outdoor environment rather than designing individual elements in isolation. Consider elevations, grading, drainage, access, sightlines, circulation, privacy, and how clients will actually use the space. Create designs that are visually impressive while remaining practical and buildable.

POOL & SPA DESIGN

Design custom swimming pools and spas that complement the architecture of the home and overall landscape. Develop pool shapes, elevations, steps, benches, tanning ledges, water features, raised elements, and other custom features. Coordinate decking, coping, retaining conditions, and surrounding spaces as part of the overall design. Learn and apply Salvo Pools' construction standards and design preferences.

LANDSCAPE & HARDSCAPE

Develop conceptual planting plans and landscape layouts. Select and locate trees, hedges, privacy plantings, ornamental landscaping, and other landscape elements. Design patios, walkways, pool decks, retaining walls, steps, and transitions throughout the property. Understand how materials, planting, architecture, and elevations work together to create a finished environment. 3D

VISUALIZATION

Produce professional 3D presentations and renderings that allow clients to visualize their completed outdoor space. Use design software to communicate materials, elevations, landscaping, structures, lighting, and overall atmosphere. Revise designs efficiently based on client feedback and direction from the sales team. Plans, Documentation & Estimating Develop accurate layouts and design documentation for internal use. Assist with plan preparation for construction and permitting. Coordinate with outside engineering, drafting, and plan-production resources when necessary. Clearly communicate dimensions, elevations, materials, and design intent. Assist with project quantities and preliminary estimates using established templates and JobTread. Collaborate with Sales to refine designs while keeping client budgets and project feasibility in mind. Maintain organized project files and design information. What We're Looking For

THE FOUNDATION MATTERS MORE THAN THE SOFTWARE

We are especially interested in candidates with backgrounds in landscape architecture, landscape design, residential outdoor-living design, high-end residential design, pool and spa design, hardscape design, residential architecture, or related fields.

Ideal Skills Strong creative and spatial-design ability Understanding of residential landscape and hardscape design Ability to read surveys, architectural drawings, and construction plans Understanding of grades, elevations, and basic site planning Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to take artistic direction and quickly incorporate feedback Ability to balance creativity with real-world construction requirements Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across departments Ability to manage multiple projects and revisions simultaneously Working knowledge of Excel and estimating workflows Design Software Experience with Structure Studios Pool Studio / VIP3D is strongly preferred. Candidates with a strong landscape or outdoor-living design portfolio and experience with comparable professional 3D design software may also be considered. Pool-specific construction and design standards can be taught to the right designer with the right foundation. Work Environment This is primarily an office-based design position at Salvo Pools in Tallahassee. The designer will receive site information, measurements, photographs, surveys, and project direction from the sales and field teams. Occasional site visits may be necessary when firsthand evaluation or additional design coordination is needed.
