Full Job Description Summary:
A growing, multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to lead and grow its Landscape Architecture practice in Savannah. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced, licensed professional who is passionate about design excellence, mentorship, and client engagement. The Senior Landscape Architect will guide the vision, quality, and growth of the landscape architecture group while working closely with civil engineering, planning, and survey teams on integrated land development and public-sector projects. The role includes hands-on design leadership, project management, and meaningful involvement in business development and client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Lead and grow the Landscape Architecture group while fostering a collaborative, creative, and professional team environment Oversee design development, technical documentation, and project delivery across residential, multifamily, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and public-sector projects Coordinate closely with civil engineering, planning, and survey teams on integrated site and land development projects Serve as a primary client contact and build strong relationships with developers, municipalities, agencies, and consultants Manage and contribute to schematic design (SD), design development (DD), and construction document (CD) phases Prepare and present projects to clients, design review boards, public agencies, and community groups Guide projects through permitting, entitlement, bidding, and construction administration phases Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposals, interviews, and client outreach Mentor and support junior landscape architects and designers, helping elevate technical skills and design quality Maintain high standards of graphic quality through both digital and hand-drawn illustrations
Qualifications:
Georgia-licensed Landscape Architect (RLA) required (South Carolina license acceptable if eligible for Georgia reciprocity) Proven experience leading landscape architecture projects from concept through construction Strong leadership and mentorship skills with experience guiding production teams Experience working with municipalities, planning departments, public works agencies, developers, and design partners Solid project management and client management experience Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of plant materials, landscape construction methods, and budgeting Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Experience with master planning and land development projects strongly preferred Familiarity working alongside civil site design teams on roadways, utilities, parking, residential, commercial, and industrial sites
