We specialize in horticulture-focused garden maintenance, landscape renovations, seasonal color, planting design, and high-end residential properties throughout Cambridge, Belmont, Newton, Brookline, Boston, and the surrounding communities. We are seeking an experienced Garden Designer / Project Manager / Sales professional who enjoys working with clients, designing beautiful gardens, and managing projects from concept through completion. Position Summary This is a unique opportunity for someone who combines creativity, horticultural expertise, sales ability, and project management skills. You will meet with prospective clients, develop planting and landscape improvement plans, prepare proposals, oversee installations, and build long-term relationships with homeowners who appreciate exceptional gardens. This position is based in our Waltham, MA office and includes regular visits to client properties throughout the Greater Boston area. ResponsibilitiesSales & Client Development Meet with prospective residential clients Understand clients' goals, budgets, and property needs Develop solutions that enhance the beauty and functionality of their landscapes Prepare professional proposals and estimates Follow up on proposals and close new business Build long-term client relationships Generate referrals through exceptional service Garden Design Design planting plans for residential landscapes Select trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs, and seasonal color Recommend hardscape improvements, garden renovations, and landscape enhancements Prepare sketches, planting plans, and presentation materials Coordinate plant sourcing with nurseries and vendors Project Management Schedule projects with field crews Coordinate materials, plant deliveries, and subcontractors Visit job sites to ensure quality and customer satisfaction Communicate regularly with clients throughout each project Manage project budgets and timelines Resolve issues professionally and efficiently Client Care Conduct seasonal garden walk-throughs Identify opportunities for enhancements and improvements Recommend ongoing maintenance and future projects Deliver an exceptional customer experience Qualifications Degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field preferred 3+ years of experience in landscape design, horticulture, or project management Strong knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and New England gardening Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Experience preparing estimates and proposals Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Valid driver's license Preferred experience with: Landscape design software (Dynascape, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) Microsoft Office CRM or project management software The Ideal Candidate You are: Passionate about plants and beautiful gardens A strong communicator who enjoys meeting people Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable selling professional services Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities Professional, positive, and dependable Focused on delivering exceptional client service Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package including: Competitive base salary Performance-based commissions and bonuses Paid vacation and holidays Health insurance Retirement savings plan Professional development opportunities Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (based on experience) Company phone and computer Compensation is commensurate with experience.
