$55,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience Position Summary Lerch Brothers, LLC is a premier, high-end landscape construction and design firm based in northern Baltimore County, Maryland. We specialize in creating award-winning, luxury outdoor living spaces for exclusive clientele. We are currently seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Junior Landscape Designer to join our design studio. In this role, you will work directly alongside our senior Landscape Architects to bring extraordinary outdoor spaces to life. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior designer to gain hands-on experience in high-end residential design, field operations, and client presentations while building a long-term career with an industry leader. Key Responsibilities Design & Drafting Support Collaborate closely with senior Landscape Architects to develop innovative and high-end residential landscape and hardscape designs. Utilize CAD software to draft base plans, conceptual layouts, and detailed construction documents. Assist in the selection of plant palettes, hardscape materials, and architectural lighting layouts suited for the Mid-Atlantic region. Site Analysis & Field Work Conduct accurate and thorough on-site measurements and site inventories for prospective and active projects. Perform detailed material takeoffs and area calculations to assist the estimating and project management teams. Photograph and document site conditions, elevations, and existing elements to ensure accurate base map creation. Presentation Development Compile and format professional, visually compelling design presentations for luxury client meetings. Create 3D renderings, mood boards, and graphic exhibits utilizing software such as SketchUp, Lumion, or the Adobe Creative Suite. Organize and prepare physical material samples (stone, pavers, planting examples) for client review.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university is strictly required.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) for landscape drafting and design.
Field Capabilities:
The ability to confidently conduct precise on-site field measurements, site analysis, and comprehensive material takeoffs.
Presentation Software:
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D modeling software (SketchUp, Lumion) is highly preferred.
Design Sensibility:
A strong portfolio showcasing design skills, drafting capabilities, and an understanding of landscape architecture principles.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced studio environment.
Requirements:
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation for visiting local job sites.
