Senior Landscape Architect

Remote (NYS) or Buffalo, Ithaca, Albany or NYC Full Time Azar Design Co is seeking a qualified Senior Landscape Architect with 10+ years of relevant experience to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, including parks & greenspace, waterfronts, campuses & universities, stormwater/green infrastructure, urban public spaces, and transportation infrastructure. Candidates will play a role in all phases of projects from design concepts through construction administration.

Responsibilities:

Oversee design work for landscape architecture projects that may involve site design, grading & drainage, stormwater & green infrastructure, materials & furnishing plans, and planting design. Duties may include design and oversight of conceptual layouts and construction drawings as well as specifications, reports, cost estimates, presentation materials, stormwater calculations, and graphic renderings. Coordinate, delegate, and review work of junior designers. Mentor junior design staff. Oversee construction administration services, including submittal review, RFI responses, site visits, and quality control. Contribute to proposals and marketing materials to secure new projects. Collaborate with diverse teams of architects, engineers, landscape architects, environmental scientists, and surveyors to bring projects to life.

Qualifications:

Degree in landscape architecture, civil or environmental engineering, or similar. 10+ years of relevant landscape architecture work experience. RLA preferred.

Technical expertise:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, or MicroStation. 3D modeling skills (Sketchup, Rhino, or other) and rendering software experience preferred.
