Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and passionate designer to contribute to the design and detailed planning of world-class golf courses. As a design associate, you will collaborate closely with the design team, clients, landscape architects, civil engineers, and construction teams to bring visionary golf course concepts to life. Your passion for sustainable design, landscape architecture, and cutting-edge software will drive the creation of engaging, environmentally responsible, and aesthetically stunning golf environments. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive golf course designs utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, ensuring precision and creativity in every detail. Create detailed hand-drawn sketches, renderings, and digital visualizations using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, and other graphic design tools to communicate design intent effectively. Conduct site analysis using GPS tools to assess topography, land use, hydrology, and environmental constraints. Prepare construction documentation including grading plans, landscaping details, hardscape elements, irrigation systems, and sustainable design features. Collaborate with civil engineers and landscape architects to integrate land surveying data and civil engineering principles into cohesive designs. Coordinate with construction teams during implementation to ensure design accuracy, quality standards, and adherence to timelines. Engage in client communication by presenting design proposals clearly through renderings and hand-drawn illustrations that highlight key features of the course layout. Engage in the business development of the firm. Manage project timelines and resources efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality throughout all project stages. Requirements Proven experience in landscape architecture or golf course design with a strong portfolio showcasing completed projects. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, or similar landscape design tools. Skilled in 3D modeling software for creating realistic visualizations. Familiarity with GPS equipment for creating as-builts. Preferably, hands-on construction experience related to landscaping, hardscape installation, irrigation systems, or civil engineering projects is highly desirable. Ability to produce detailed renderings using Adobe Photoshop or other rendering software; experience with hand-drawn illustration is a plus. Strong understanding of project management practices including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating multiple stakeholders. Excellent communication skills for effective client presentations and team collaboration. Background in horticulture or landscape maintenance is advantageous for designing resilient landscapes that thrive over time.
