Full Job Description STUDIO:
Groundswell Design Group is a multidisciplinary design firm that specializes in placemaking, public space activation, landscape and interior design. With projects ranging in scale from large public parks to intimate restaurants and pop-up activations, the Groundswell team creates compelling and highly crafted experiences through a collaborative design process. As a small, but dynamic studio, candidates would be part of a tightly knit team working on a wide range of project typologies.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking to hire a talented designer with 1 to 3 years of experience in urban and/or landscape design to assist with ongoing design, production and installation efforts. The position requires a professional degree in urban design, landscape architecture, and/or architecture from an accredited university. Groundswell has a remote office environment, but the ideal candidate would be located near Philadelphia, PA. Proficiency in conceptual design, graphics production, 3D modelling and the development of site plans, details and sections in AutoCAD is required. It is essential that team members have strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable both collaborating intensively and working independently, depending on the project needs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized and efficient. Strong writing and general communication skills are required. Ability to travel domestically to assist with project installations is required.
Program proficiency requirements include:
AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, Zoom and Microsoft Office. Skills that are not required but strengthen the application include: experience in project management, budgeting and procurement, proficiency using Revit and work experience in Design/Build or fabrication environments.
