Sacramento, CA Mackenzie is a growing firm offering full-service design solutions through an integrated in-house design team. Our landscape architects contribute to and lead a wide variety of projects including public facilities, parks, master plans, healthcare and industrial projects. We are seeking a highly experienced landscape architect with 12+ years of experience to join our team. This full-time role is suited to a self-motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about project management and delivering high-quality projects within a multi-disciplinary firm. This position involves guiding and mentoring staff while partnering with department leadership on strategic initiatives and business development. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to contribute to both project execution and the continued growth of the landscape architecture team.
Key Responsibilities:
Foster staff development by supporting mentorship, growth opportunities, and a positive team environment Work with client, stakeholders, and project team to execute work Establish and maintain strong client relationships Identify market opportunities and develop project leads Prepare proposals, presentations, and marketing efforts Serve as the landscape architectural lead and landscape architect of record Coordinate with architects, interior designers, civil and structural engineers, and project consultants to ensure design integrity Proactively manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution Assist in operational management efforts including staffing coordination, recruitment, and hiring
Qualifications:
Strong construction documentation, detailing, cost estimating, and construction administration experience Strong project management experience in public and private sectors Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills Business development and marketing experience Passionate about finding thoughtful solutions that exceed client expectations, meet social justice and climate equity goals, and are mindful of budget. Licensed in OR, WA, and/or CA Familiarity with design and production software such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Civil 3D, LandFX, Bluebeam, and SketchUp Proficiency with project management tools such as
Deltek, Procore, Forma, MS Office Suite Salary Range:
$90k-130k depending on experience and location At Mackenzie, we work a hybrid office schedule; all staff work in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with an option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
