Job Description

Dwyer DesignScapes is hiring a Senior Landscape Architect to join our design-build team, working on high-end residential projects from concept through installation. About Dwyer DesignScapes Dwyer DesignScapes is a Louisville, KY-based design-build-maintain landscape firm serving discerning residential clients across the region. We handle the full lifecycle of a project — design, construction, and long-term maintenance — which means our designers stay connected to their work long after the plans are approved. About the Role In this role, you'll work on Dwyer's high-end residential design-build projects — from initial client consultation through construction documents and into the field. You'll work closely with our General Manager and landscape technicians to keep design and build phases aligned. What You'll Do Design high-end residential landscape projects from concept through construction documentation, including site analysis, planting plans, hardscape layouts, and grading/drainage plans Prepare construction documents and technical drawings, including plans requiring a professional stamp Conduct site visits during construction to confirm design intent and troubleshoot field questions alongside our General Manager and landscape technicians Present designs to clients and guide them through decisions from initial consultation through completion, delivering a high-touch, white-glove experience at every stage Coordinate with our General Manager and landscape technicians to keep design and build phases aligned Contribute to plant palette references and design documentation for the region Collaborate with and support other team members as our design team grows
What We're Looking For Required:
Active Landscape Architect license in Kentucky, or a license in another state with a confirmed path to Kentucky reciprocity within 3 months of hire 5+ years of experience as a registered/licensed Landscape Architect, including design-build and/or construction administration Experience with high-end residential design Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with SketchUp, Lumion, or similar rendering software Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills Outgoing, personable style with a proven ability to build genuine rapport and trust with high-net-worth clients Self-starter who takes initiative on projects and client needs without requiring heavy oversight Commitment to delivering a high-touch, white-glove client experience from first consultation through project completion Ability to read and coordinate with engineering drawings, grading/drainage plans, and technical specifications
Preferred:
Familiarity with regional plant material and horticultural conditions specific to Kentucky/the Ohio Valley Prior experience in a residential design-build-maintain firm CLARB certification or eligibility Compensation & Benefits Starting salary: $90,000/year, depending on experience Paid time off Retirement plan Health benefits Professional development assistance Performance bonuses Relocation package available for the right candidate How to
