Ace Tree is seeking a safety-focused, dependable CDL Driver to operate a grapple truck in support of our tree care operations. This position is responsible for following production crews, safely removing and transporting tree debris, maintaining clean and organized job sites, and ensuring efficient disposal of wood waste and other materials. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial driver who takes pride in operating equipment safely, protecting company assets, and representing Ace Tree professionally with customers and the public. Essential Responsibilities Safely operate a CDL grapple truck to load, transport, and dispose of tree debris, logs, brush, and wood waste. Follow assigned production crews to perform timely debris removal and maintain workflow efficiency. Operate the hydraulic grapple safely and efficiently while minimizing property damage. Transport debris to approved disposal or recycling facilities while complying with all DOT regulations and company policies. Conduct thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections. Report mechanical issues, damage, or maintenance needs promptly. Maintain accurate vehicle inspection reports, DOT logs, and required documentation. Secure loads properly and ensure all loads are transported safely. Navigate residential neighborhoods, commercial properties, and confined job sites safely. Communicate effectively with crew leaders, dispatch, and management regarding job progress and scheduling. Assist with job site cleanup, traffic control, and other operational duties when needed. Maintain a clean and organized truck, ensuring equipment is cared for and operated responsibly. Represent Ace Tree professionally with customers, municipalities, and the general public. Qualifications Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record. Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. Ability to meet company driving and insurance requirements. Previous experience operating a grapple truck, knuckle boom, roll-off, dump truck, or similar heavy equipment preferred. Experience in the tree care, landscaping, construction, forestry, or waste removal industries is preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety requirements. Ability to safely operate hydraulic equipment and work around active tree operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while supporting production crews. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. Frequently climb in and out of commercial vehicles and onto equipment. Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and walk throughout the workday. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
