Job Description

Description Lumber Grader works at a lumber yard, or commercial establishment grading lumber. As a lumber grader you will inspect hardwood and softwood species to determine dimension, grade and other qualities.
Pay Range:
$18.47 to $23.92 per hour
Locations:
Hamden, OH First Shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Key Functions Examine lumber on chain conveyors or in racks for defects such as knots, stains, decay, splits, faulty edges, pitch pockets, wormholes, and defective milling. Grades lumber to ensure specified dimensions. Lead throughput for assigned production line. Control and operate computer system for assigned production line Scales board footage and records results. Pulls graded lumber into unit form Willing to learn/follow NHLA Lumber grading guidelines Hand stack lumber as needed Requirements Previous experience grading lumber Exhibit a high level of flexibility. Excellent attendance record Excellent communication skills Team Player and Self-Starter Must have legal authorization to work in the US full-time for anyone other than current employer.
