Duties Operate underground mining equipment such as continuous miners, shuttle cars, and roof bolters to facilitate coal extraction. Utilize drilling machines for blast hole drilling, horizontal drilling, and other excavation tasks following safety protocols. Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of materials and equipment parts while maintaining proper ergonomic practices. Perform routine maintenance and mechanical checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow safety standards in production, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, eye protection, and respiratory gear. Adhere strictly to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and safety regulations specific to underground and surface mining operations. Assist with the setup of water trucks, excavators, Caterpillar equipment, and other industrial tools necessary for mining activities. Requirements Proven experience in underground coal mining or surface mining operations with knowledge of underground equipment operation. Familiarity with pipeline installation, water truck operation, and industrial equipment maintenance is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge related to drilling machines, heavy equipment operation, welding, and troubleshooting machinery issues. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently in outdoor work environments. Demonstrated understanding of safety protocol adherence, OSHA standards, and safety regulations within the mining or construction site context. Experience operating drilling in mining settings or using horizontal drilling techniques is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures accurately.
