Position Summary:
We're seeking a dependable Underground Laborer with mini excavator experience to support underground telecommunications construction projects. This role assists crews with excavation, conduit placement, cable installation, and restoration work while safely operating small equipment and hand tools.
Responsibilities:
Operate mini excavators and assist with trenching and excavation for underground fiber and coax installation Assist with conduit placement, cable installation, and backfilling trenches Work closely with locators and equipment operators to avoid existing utilities Perform potholing and utility exposure using safe digging practices Support directional drill and plow crews as needed Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment Maintain clean and safe job sites Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Follow DOTCOM safety procedures and OSHA regulations
Qualifications:
1-2 years of construction or underground utility experience preferred Experience operating mini excavators or similar small equipment required Experience in telecommunications or utility construction a plus Ability to read utility locate markings and basic construction prints preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus) Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude Commitment to DOTCOM's values:
