About Americas Gold & Silver Americas Gold & Silver operates the historic underground Galena Mine in North Idaho's scenic Silver Valley—an area known for its mining history and year-round recreational activities. We provide a team-oriented environment where developing tradespeople can build their skills and grow their careers in mining. Job Description Americas Gold & Silver is looking for a motivated and mechanically inclined Underground Fixed Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at the Galena Complex in Wallace, Idaho. This position is ideal for someone early in their mechanical career who is eager to gain hands-on experience in an underground mining environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced mechanics to maintain and repair fixed underground equipment while learning the trade in a safety-first environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with maintenance, repair, and installation of fixed underground equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, and dewatering systems. Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance tasks under supervision. Learn to troubleshoot equipment issues and complete minor repairs. Maintain a clean and organized underground workspace in accordance with MSHA and company safety protocols. Support senior mechanics and supervisors in emergency repair situations. Help with the documentation of work orders and maintenance logs. Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and job-specific instruction.
