Job Description Americas Gold & Silver is looking for a motivated and mechanically inclined Underground Fixed Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at the Galena Complex in Wallace, Idaho. This position is ideal for someone early in their mechanical career who is eager to gain hands-on experience in an underground mining environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced mechanics to maintain and repair fixed underground equipment while learning the trade in a safety-first environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with maintenance, repair, and installation of fixed underground equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, and dewatering systems. Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance tasks under supervision. Learn to troubleshoot equipment issues and complete minor repairs. Maintain a clean and organized underground workspace in accordance with MSHA and company safety protocols. Support senior mechanics and supervisors in emergency repair situations. Help with the documentation of work orders and maintenance logs. Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and job-specific instruction.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Required:

Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in learning underground mining systems.

Preferred:

Previous experience in a mining, industrial, automotive, agricultural, or construction equipment environment.

Preferred:

Welding and fabrication skills or interest in developing them. Ability to work in a physically demanding underground environment. Willingness to learn, follow directions, and adhere to safety standards. Strong work ethic and reliability in a team setting.
