Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Roadside Assistance Field Technician is responsible for providing prompt and efficient roadside assistance services to motorists in need. This includes tasks such as jump-starting vehicles, changing flat tires, delivering fuel, unlocking vehicles, and performing minor mechanical repairs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the capacity to work independently in various weather conditions. Training and equipment will be provided by the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to
Service Calls:
Quickly and efficiently respond to roadside assistance calls, ensuring timely arrival at the customer's location.
Vehicle Assistance:
Provide services including jump-starting batteries, changing flat tires, delivering fuel, and unlocking vehicles.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate clearly and courteously with customers, explaining the nature of the problem and the services performed.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety of yourself, the customer, and other road users.
Documentation:
Accurately document services provided, including customer information, service details, and any parts used.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and care for all tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
On-Call Duties:
Be available for on-call work as required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in automotive repair is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in roadside assistance, automotive repair, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Familiarity with using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Certification in automotive repair or a related field is an advantage.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in various weather conditions, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
Work Environment:
Field-based position requiring travel to various locations within the service area. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
