Job Overview:

WilliamSmith Fireplaces of SC LLC is seeking a Gas Service Technician to join our team. We specialize in providing top-quality fireplace and chimney services for both residential and commercial clients. This position requires expertise in chimney sweeping, inspection, and maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and craftsmanship. While CSIA certification is a plus, it is not required-we are willing to provide training and support the right candidate in obtaining industry certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair gas, propane, fireplace, and chimney systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to propane lines, gas appliances, venting systems, and fireplaces. Perform chimney cleaning, fireplace servicing, and safety inspections in compliance with company and industry standards. Ensure all installations and repairs meet local codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications. Educate customers on proper system usage, maintenance, and safety practices. Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean and safe working condition. Work safely in confined spaces, on rooftops, ladders, and in varying weather conditions. Collaborate with team members and management to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions or system upgrades when needed.

Qualifications:

Experience in a commercial construction-related role Sales experience within the commercial construction industry Candidates with backgrounds in construction, propane companies, gas services, or low-voltage electrical work possess transferable skills that align well with the this role, we encourage those candidates to apply. Previous experience as a chimney sweep, fireplace technician, or similar trade is preferred. CSIA Certification is a plus but not required. Company paid training class to help you obtain your CSIA certification. Strong understanding of chimney and fireplace systems, venting, and safety standards. Ability to work in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in various weather conditions. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor as required. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
