The Role Terranova is hiring an experienced Forward Deployed Operator to deploy, operate, and maintain our robotic land-elevation systems. This is a hands-on field role for someone with experience in oilfield, drilling, farming, construction, or heavy-equipment operations. You will operate machinery, set up field sites, move equipment and materials, troubleshoot problems, and help our engineering team improve the system. The work is physically demanding and takes place outdoors in changing conditions. You should be mechanically capable, safety-minded, comfortable around heavy equipment, and able to solve problems without always having a manual. Schedule This is a five-day-per-week position but not a M-F schedule. Workweeks may include weekends, and schedules may change during deployment sprints. Occasional sixth days, travel, and overnight stays may be required based on project needs, weather, and site conditions. Responsibilities Deploy and operate Terranova's robots, pumps, injection systems, sensors, and support equipment Set up and break down equipment at active field sites Operate or support skid steers, loaders, forklifts, trailers, pumps, generators, and similar machinery Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and field equipment Move and secure hoses, tools, equipment, parts, and materials Support drilling, pumping, injection, and field-data collection Test new equipment and provide practical feedback to the engineering team Document equipment issues, repairs, and site conditions Maintain high standards for safety, urgency, and quality What We're Looking For Hands-on experience in oil and gas, drilling, farming, construction, heavy equipment, or a similar field environment Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills Familiarity with pumps, hoses, valves, engines, generators, or hydraulic systems Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work Willingness to work weekends and travel when needed Valid driver's license and safe driving record Reliable, safety-conscious, and calm under pressure U.S. permanent residency Experience with drilling rigs, pumping operations, agricultural machinery, equipment repair, hydraulics, trailers, robotics, or industrial controls is a strong plus. A college degree is not required.
