Derrickhand - Job Description Duties & Responsibilities Perform derrick operations (latch & unlatch tubing, operate rod basket equipment) Service and maintain all equipment associated with rig Work floors and train other members of crew in derrick operations Run the rig for operator as needed and manage crew members when relief operating Perform other various tasks such as roustabout projects as assigned by the Rig Supervisor or Foreman Skills & Specifications Ability to work with a diverse team to achieve production and cost targets Works safely and adheres to all company guidelines, policies, procedures, all regulations, etc. Strong work ethic, punctual, and motivated Comfortable working in a fast-paced high-pressure environment Has basic computer skills; data entry into various electronic databases or the ability to learn Has basic knowledge of down hole production equipment Maintain good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility Has integrity, solid communication skills, and a positive attitude Attend and participate in daily and monthly safety meetings Report to work on time and fit for duty; able to work in all weather conditions Possess organizational and problem-solving skills Education & Qualifications Possess a valid driver's license, CDL a plus (may be required in some locations) Legally authorized to work in the United States Able to pass a pre-employment drug and background check Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state-certified program Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs Capable of rigorous outdoor activities with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment
