Job Description

Job Summary Join our team as a Workover Derrickhand, where you will play a vital role in the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas well servicing activities. In this energetic position, you will oversee the setup and operation of workover rigs, assist with rigging and equipment handling, and ensure all procedures adhere to strict safety standards. Your mechanical expertise and outdoor work experience will contribute to successful plugging and abandonment (P&A) operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Duties Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of workover derricks and associated equipment on oil rigs and well sites. Manage rigging activities, including lifting, positioning, and securing heavy equipment using cranes, backhoe, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with pumping systems, pumping equipment, and other operational machinery to minimize downtime. Support crew management by coordinating tasks efficiently and maintaining clear communication among team members. Follow all safety protocols related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) use, safety standards, and site-specific safety procedures. Operate commercial trucks and tankers safely for transportation of equipment or materials between sites. Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as pumps, cranes, backhoe, forklifts, and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance. Qualifications Proven experience working on oil rigs as a derrickhand. Mechanical knowledge related to pumping systems, hydraulic equipment, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Strong understanding of safety protocols including PPE use, respiratory protection measures, OSHA standards, and oilfield safety practices. Valid commercial truck driving license with experience in commercial driving or tanker operations preferred. Hands-on experience with rigging techniques and equipment setup on oil & gas sites. Ability to operate heavy machinery safely in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. Prior outdoor work experience in oil & gas or construction industries is highly desirable. Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
