Location East Texas (preferred home base: Nacogdoches — not required) Travel within Texas is required based on project needs. Summary of Role Rig Crew Member will support field operations across drilling, pump service, and well development. This is an entry-level position for someone seeking hands-on experience in the water well industry while working as part of a professional field crew. The role assists with job site setup, equipment handling, material mixing, maintenance support, housekeeping, and daily field tasks while learning Russell Drilling's standards for safety, quality, and teamwork. Responsibilities of Role Support daily field operations, including mobilization, site setup, rig-up, rig-down, material handling, and general jobsite labor Assist crews in drilling, pump service, and well development activities as directed by the driller, operator, or supervisor Handle pipe, tools, hoses, fittings, and support equipment safely and efficiently while protecting company assets and customer property Mix drilling fluids, cement, and other job materials in accordance with company procedures and crew direction Help maintain equipment and support assets, including drilling rigs, service rigs, pumps, mud systems, crew trucks, forklifts, trailers, compressors, generators, and light plants Perform general housekeeping on the jobsite, rig, crew truck, and shop areas to maintain a clean and organized work environment Inspect, clean, store, and care for tools, spare parts, consumables, and field supplies Follow all company safety requirements, including PPE, hazard awareness, safe lifting, and stop-work expectations Communicate clearly with crew leaders and teammates regarding tasks, job conditions, equipment needs, and safety concerns Represent Russell Drilling professionally in the field with a strong work ethic, good attitude, and willingness to learn Required Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, applicable work experience Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across Texas Ability to work outdoors in Texas conditions and perform physically demanding field work Willingness to learn drilling, pump service, well development, and equipment support activities Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and ability to follow direction as part of a crew Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment Preferred Experience Previous experience in construction, oilfield, water well, pump service, heavy equipment, farm/ranch, or other outdoor labor environments Texas Class A CDL preferred, but not required Experience operating forklifts, trailers, work trucks, pumps, or other support equipment preferred Familiarity with jobsite safety practices, equipment care, and preventive maintenance preferred Interest in developing long-term skills in drilling, pump service, and well development Experience working around drilling fluids, pumps, or rotating equipment is a plus Recommended Resume with relevant work history, trade experience, or field labor background Any applicable certifications or training, such as CDL, equipment, safety, or first aid 2 references (preferably a former supervisor, crew lead, or employer) Ability to pass company-required hiring and safety onboarding processes Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and overall fit for the role Per diem and travel policy Health benefits and additional benefits
