Job Description

JHeavy Equipment Operator C & R Pipe and Steel, Inc. is looking for a reliable, hardworking Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position involves operating a variety of heavy equipment in a busy steel and scrap metal yard environment. We are looking for someone who is safety-minded, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors year-round.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, material handlers, forklifts, skid steers, and other yard equipment Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and customer vehicles Move, sort, stack, and process steel, pipe, scrap metal, and other materials Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns Assist with general yard operations and material handling as needed Maintain a clean and safe work area Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating requirements Work efficiently with yard personnel, drivers, customers, and supervisors Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous heavy equipment operating experience required Minimum 1 year experience operating loaders and excavators required Ability to safely work around trucks, equipment, and heavy materials Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment knowledge are a plus Must be dependable and have good attendance Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to perform physical labor when needed Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
What We're Looking For:
We need someone who can operate equipment safely and confidently but isn't afraid to get out of the cab and help wherever needed. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced yard, and reliability, common sense, and a strong work ethic are important. Full-time position | Fairbanks, Alaska Pay DOE.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
