Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Skid Steer Fine Grading Operator specializing in New Home Construction and Subdivision underground utilities and sitework to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for precise grading and utility installation using skid steers and other heavy equipment, ensuring projects meet quality standards and safety regulations. Your expertise will help drive efficient project completion while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities Operate skid steer loaders with precision for fine grading, excavation, and utility trenching according to project specifications. Perform underground utility installation to ensure accurate placement of water, sewer, storm, electrical, or communication lines. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, and water trucks to ensure optimal performance. Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures consistently to maintain a safe work environment. Assist with construction grading activities, ensuring surfaces are level and properly prepared for subsequent phases of the project. Collaborate with team members on site to coordinate excavation activities, utility work, and sitework operations efficiently. Maintain detailed records of equipment use, maintenance schedules, and safety compliance documentation. Requirements Proven experience operating skid steers for fine grading, excavation, and utility work within a construction environment. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, Caterpillar machinery, and water trucks. Ability to perform routine mechanical maintenance on construction machinery and troubleshoot minor issues. Familiarity with underground utility locating techniques and tools to accurately identify existing utilities before excavation. Construction site experience with emphasis on utility installation, grading, and site preparation procedures. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety protocols during operations. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance is highly desirable. Join us in building something great!
