Job Description

Duffield Aggregate is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for our quarry located in Russellville, Arkansas. The successful candidate for this role will have previous experience operating various equipment and other duties related to mining. The successful candidate must also possess a strong commitment to safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate hydraulic excavators (trackhoes) to: Load rock into haul trucks Excavate overburden and rock Maintain pit floor and walls Assist in clearing and preparing quarry areas Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections Follow all safety policies, procedures, and quarry regulations Perform minor maintenance and daily servicing of equipment Communicate clearly with other team members including haul truck drivers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel Identify and report hazards or mechanical issues Assist with other duties around the quarry as needed
Qualifications:
Prior experience operating a trackhoe or similar heavy equipment (1+ years preferred) Familiarity with quarry or mining operations a plus Strong understanding of safety practices in an industrial or mining environment Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks Reliable transportation and strong attendance record High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Sit for extended periods in the operator's seat Climb in and out of heavy equipment safely Tolerate exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and weather elements
Preferred Certifications:
MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 Certification (can often be obtained after hire)
