Starting $38/HR •The main responsibility will be operating a bobcat/excavator/other heavy equipment required to break and remove concrete, load trucks, and excavate large foundations. This is not just a driver position, and this is not just an operator position. We are a medium sized all hands-on deck company, if you want to get a full 40 hours a week you will have to do some manual labor. We are seeking a team player that wants to grow with the company.•
Position Overview:
Brownco Construction, a leading construction company specializing in concrete and steel construction, is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Class A license, possess a valid driver's license, and have a proven track record of safe driving and efficient transportation of construction materials and equipment. The role requires expertise in operating various vehicles, including bobtail dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds, as well as proficiency in handling equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, and mini excavators.
Responsibilities:
Safe Operation of Vehicles:
Drive a variety of trucks, including F650 and F750 Bobtail, Freightliner Roll Off Truck, and Ford F650 Flatbed. Proficiently operate vehicles with manual transmission (stick shift). Tow trailers with bobcats or mini excavators to deliver materials to job sites.
Material Handling:
Load and unload a flatbed with steel, rebar, wood, and other construction materials. Transport materials such as dirt, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and sand to and from job sites and dumps.
Equipment Operation:
Operate a bobtail dump truck, roll-off truck for low boys, forklift, bobcat, and mini excavator. Ensure safe and efficient handling of equipment during loading and unloading processes. Must be an equipment operator with experience in breaking concrete and large excavations.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with Brownco's mechanic regarding any issues or maintenance requirements for the trucks. Collaborate with team members and other departments to facilitate smooth transportation and material delivery processes.
Navigational Skills:
Have a thorough knowledge of Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, and San Diego freeways to plan optimal routes. Safely navigate and deliver materials to job sites, suppliers, and the Brownco yard.
Hands-On Work:
Be willing to participate in hands-on work, including assisting with loading and unloading materials when required.
Time Flexibility:
Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to work evenings or nights based on construction schedules and material delivery demands.
Qualifications:
Class A license with a valid driver's license. Proficient in driving vehicles with manual transmission. Experience in operating bobtail dump trucks, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, bobcats, and mini excavators. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, and San Diego freeways. Ability to tow and back up trailers with bobcats or mini excavators. Proficiency in both Spanish and English languages is a plus. Must pass drug test
