Job Description

Position Summary HYPER is seeking experienced CDL Class A Heavy Equipment Transport Drivers to support wildland fire response, forestry operations, and heavy civil construction projects throughout Northern California. This position plays a critical role in transporting heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, and support machinery to active job sites and emergency wildfire incidents. We're looking for dependable professionals who are committed to safety, efficiency, and teamwork in fast-paced environments. If you're an experienced Class A driver who enjoys meaningful work, challenging assignments, and supporting California's wildfire response efforts, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do Safely transport heavy equipment using Class A tractor-trailers, lowboys, dump trucks, and equipment trailers. Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy machinery in accordance with FMCSA cargo securement standards. Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, DOT logs, and required documentation. Coordinate with dispatch and field supervisors to ensure timely equipment mobilization and demobilization. Support wildfire emergency response assignments, including extended shifts, weekends, and night operations when needed. Communicate professionally with clients, public agencies, and field personnel. Report equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or roadside repairs when necessary. Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and DOT regulations. Qualifications Valid California CDL Class A driver's license. Clean driving record. 3-5 years of experience transporting heavy equipment. Strong understanding of load securement, weight distribution, and oversized load requirements. Experience operating heavy equipment for loading and unloading is preferred. Current DOT Medical Certificate. Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Work Environment This position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel throughout Northern California in support of wildfire incidents and construction projects.
