BENA Recology Waste Solutions Role of Equipment Operator Under minimal supervision, facilitate sorting, positioning, staging and loading waste and recyclable materials for safe transport and efficient removal from the site. Essential Responsibilities Operates heavy equipment, such as a loader, dozer, excavator or similar equipment, as applicable to location. Performs daily routine safety and equipment operation checks including pre- and post-shift inspections on assigned equipment. Maintains a safe and clean work environment. Reports issues to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner. Acts as a lead or resource for other Equipment Operators, answering questions and providing training. Supports other areas of the operation, as needed. Maintains good customer relations and interacts in a professional manner with customers. Suggests process improvements to enhance efficient removal from the site. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Three years of related experience, including experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment. Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations. Basic Computer Aptitude. High school degree or GED, preferred. Valid driver's license. Commercial driver's license, preferred.
