is building a commercial heavy-duty towing, recovery, and equipment transportation operation in San Diego and is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Towing & Recovery Supervisor to help develop and operate this division. This is a hands-on supervisory position , not a desk-only management role. The right candidate will have substantial experience operating heavy-duty wreckers and performing commercial vehicle recoveries and will be capable of taking the lead on complex recovery situations, operating company equipment, coordinating other operators, and helping ownership develop safe and effective recovery procedures as the operation grows. We are specifically interested in experienced professionals who understand heavy wreckers, commercial trucks, recovery techniques, rigging, winching, equipment limitations, scene assessment, and the judgment required to perform difficult recoveries safely. Responsibilities Personally operate heavy-duty towing and recovery equipment. Perform towing and recovery of disabled, damaged, crashed, stuck, or overturned commercial vehicles and equipment. Assess recovery scenes and determine safe recovery methods, equipment requirements, rigging, positioning, and personnel needs. Lead and coordinate complex recoveries requiring multiple operators, trucks, or pieces of equipment. Perform winching, uprighting, rigging, towing, and recovery operations within equipment and manufacturer limitations. Coordinate transportation and recovery of commercial trucks, trailers, buses, construction equipment, machinery, and other heavy vehicles or equipment. Safely load, secure, tow, and transport vehicles and equipment. Use chains, straps, binders, snatch blocks, shackles, rigging equipment, winches, and other recovery equipment appropriately. Supervise and assist other drivers and recovery operators as the team grows. Train operators on safe towing, recovery, rigging, securement, equipment operation, and company procedures. Help ownership establish practical heavy-duty towing and recovery procedures, safety standards, equipment requirements, and operating practices. Evaluate jobs before dispatch or acceptance to determine whether company equipment and personnel can perform the work safely. Communicate with customers, dispatch, law enforcement, fleet operators, trucking companies, repair facilities, and other parties at recovery scenes. Maintain accurate documentation of towing and recovery jobs. Perform required pre-trip/post-trip inspections and identify maintenance or equipment concerns. Maintain company trucks and recovery equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition. Follow applicable DOT, California motor-carrier, Hours-of-Service, safety, and company requirements. professionally with customers and at recovery scenes. Required Qualifications Valid Class A CDL. Significant professional experience in heavy-duty towing and recovery. Hands-on experience operating heavy-duty wreckers. Experience recovering commercial trucks, tractor-trailers, buses, heavy equipment, or similar vehicles. Strong knowledge of winching, rigging, load securement, recovery techniques, and safe working loads. Ability to assess complicated recovery situations and develop a safe recovery plan. Strong understanding of commercial trucks, trailers, weights, capacities, and equipment limitations. Ability to work safely around disabled, damaged, overturned, or otherwise compromised vehicles and equipment. Professional communication and customer-service skills. Strong judgment and ability to remain composed during difficult recovery situations. Acceptable driving record. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with heavy-duty towing and recovery. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Heavy Wrecker Supervisor, Lead Heavy-Duty Operator, Recovery Supervisor, Towing Operations Supervisor, or similar position. Rotator experience. Experience operating 25-ton, 35-ton, 50-ton, or comparable heavy wreckers. Experience leading multi-truck or multi-operator recovery scenes. Experience supervising and training towing/recovery operators. Heavy equipment transportation experience. Lowboy, flatbed, equipment trailer, or tractor-trailer experience. Experience working with commercial fleets, trucking companies, equipment companies, law enforcement, municipalities, or other commercial customers. Knowledge of towing/recovery documentation and commercial billing requirements. Schedule & Compensation Full-time — 40 hours per week $36.00

00 per hour , depending on directly relevant heavy-duty towing, recovery, supervisory, and operational experience. Additional overtime, after-hours, weekend, and emergency recovery work may be required depending on operational needs. is developing its heavy-duty commercial towing, recovery, and equipment transportation capabilities for long-term growth. We are not simply looking for another driver. We are looking for an experienced heavy-duty recovery professional who can operate the equipment, take command when a difficult recovery requires it, help develop other operators, and work directly with ownership to build a professional recovery operation. The right candidate will have meaningful input into recovery procedures, equipment utilization, operator training, safety practices, and the continued development of the heavy-duty recovery side of the company.
