Our construction company is looking for an Excavator Operator to move dirt and other materials to the job site. Our ideal candidate has completed a relevant apprenticeship, but we consider all individuals possessing the appropriate skillset. You must be able to coordinate and collaborate with other workers and supervisors on-site, so clear communication skills are crucial. You should have the skills to operate most pieces of heavy equipment, such as a loader, dozer, or backhoe. Trucking experience, including experience with both driving and loading and unloading materials, is also a plus. You will use heavy machines to excavate, clear, move, load and unload materials or cargo. Excavator operators may also use power shovels to excavate rock, ore or other materials from quarries or construction pits. Prior to beginning work, you will ensure everything is safe and that the machinery is operating correctly. Consult with blueprints, designs or drawings of what is needed on the job A successful candidate for an excavator operator or heavy equipment operator position should have experience working with excavators or heavy equipment. They also need experience working on construction sites, mines, logging facilities or cargo bays. Expertise in maintaining heavy machinery or excavators is a must, as well as experience interpreting drawings, blueprints or designs for a project. Safely operate excavators and other heavy machinery to dig trenches, move soil, and load materials Prepare construction site by removing debris and hazards, ensuring a safe working environment. Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and refueling to ensure optimal performance. Work closely with supervisor and follow blueprints to complete tasks accurately and efficiently. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing proper protective gear and securing the work area.
