Job Description

Position Summary HERO is seeking a dependable, motivated, and mechanically inclined Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily operations at our slurry dewatering facility. This is a hands on position that includes operating heavy equipment, assisting with dewatering operations, receiving incoming loads, performing equipment inspections, completing preventative maintenance, maintaining a clean and organized facility, and supporting day to day operations wherever needed. The ideal candidate is safety focused, adaptable, and willing to learn all aspects of HERO's operation. Essential Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently as required. Support daily slurry dewatering operations and material handling activities. Receive and assist incoming trucks during unloading. Operate and monitor dewatering equipment following company procedures. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly. Assist with preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repairs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Complete daily inspection reports, production logs, and other required documentation. Work closely with supervisors and team members to maximize operational efficiency. Follow all company safety policies and environmental requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations. Qualifications Previous heavy equipment experience is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Experience in construction, industrial operations, recycling, environmental services, wastewater, or related industries is preferred. Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Valid California Driver License. Forklift or CDL experience is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to climb, bend, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods. Ability to safely work around industrial equipment and moving machinery.
