Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery on construction sites. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and safely. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating loaders, dump trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment to assist in building and construction activities.

Stoneridge Excavation LLC is a growing excavation and earthwork contractor serving residential, commercial, and municipal clients throughout Northern Colorado. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Equipment Operator I operates 1-2 types of heavy equipment under general supervision. This is a working position for operators with some experience who are ready to develop their skills on additional equipment types. You'll work alongside experienced operators and crew members on a variety of excavation projects.
EQUIPMENT YOU'LL OPERATE
Skid steers Wheel loaders Excavators Bulldozers Etc. Training provided on additional equipment types as you advance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently on job sites Perform site preparation, grading, and finish work Excavate for basements, footings, utilities, and drainage systems Load and move materials as directed Complete daily equipment inspections and report issues Perform basic equipment maintenance (fueling, greasing, fluid checks) Work from grade stakes and follow direction from Foreman Assist crew members with ground work when not operating equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Follow all safety protocols and participate in daily safety talks
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Valid driver's license (required) Some experience operating skid steers, loaders, or mini excavators Reliable transportation to job sites or shop location Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Basic understanding of excavation work and site safety Formal certifications not required — we train and certify internally.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday, occasional Saturdays based on project needs
Report Location:

CAREER PATH

Operator I's who demonstrate reliability, skill development, and leadership potential can advance to Operator II (3+ equipment types), then Operator III/Lead, Foreman, and Field Superintendent. We invest in training — including GPS/grade control certification — and want to see you grow. Experience Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with loaders, skid steer Familiarity with underground utility installation prefered Previous experience working on construction sites is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards in all operations.
