Job Description
Rhoades Construction is looking to hire a working Foreman/Operator to manage the jobsite, project progression, maintain a safe working environment for our teammates, customers, and the public.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively operate heavy equipment in a safe manner at all times, in effort to eliminate damage and injury when excavating in the vicinity of underground utilities (communication, power, natural gas, water, etc.)
- Oversee small crew to ensure projects are being completed timely, according to specs and site plan
- Establish daily crew goals and assign duties
- Communicate with Project Manager
- Evaluate crew members performance and provide coaching
- Complete daily paperwork (ie. Daily reports, safety sheets, timesheets, etc.)
- Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on all equipment and report any defect or needed repairs.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Requirements
- Have a valid driver's license and a clean MVR
- Be able to pass a drug and background check
- Must be able to read engineered site plans
- Must be proficient in reading and setting grades, site surveys and staking, engineered plans and specs.
- Must have experience in installing water main, sewer main, storm sewer
- Maintain high quality work
- Must be well versed in performing excavation activities using heavy equipment such at excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, rollers, etc.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be punctual and reliable and have the ability to meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
- Must be willing to work and travel between Canon City and Salida for extended periods of time, when needed.
- Willing to work hours that are associated to the construction industry, including overtime, and weekends if needed.
