Job Description
Overview Part-Time to Full-Time Opportunity Join our dynamic construction team as a Mini Excavator Operator/Installer specializing in water and sewer infrastructure! In this energetic role, you'll operate compact yet powerful excavators to perform precise excavation and utility installation tasks on construction sites. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project progress, adherence to safety standards, and high-quality utility installations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy machinery, contribute to vital infrastructure projects, and grow your skills within a collaborative environment. Duties Operate mini excavators and loaders safely and efficiently for excavation, trenching, and utility installation tasks Perform construction utility work including water and sewer line installation, repair, and maintenance Conduct routine machinery inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance Assist with construction grading and site preparation to meet project specifications Utilize utility locating tools to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation Follow all federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures during daily operations Support construction site activities by coordinating with team members to ensure smooth workflow and safety compliance Requirements Proven experience operating mini excavators, backhoes, loaders, or similar heavy construction machinery Knowledge of excavation techniques, construction grading, and utility installation processes Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures Ability to perform basic mechanical maintenance on construction equipment Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent for commercial truck driving when required Mechanical knowledge related to Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands Construction site experience with a focus on utility work such as water and sewer systems Strong understanding of construction utility locating methods and tools Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for long shifts Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a tangible impact!
