POSITION SUMMARY

Performs all functions relating to the operation and site maintenance of heavy equipment utilized for the installation of underground infrastructure and site work. Self-motivated and mechanically skilled. Foundation and structure excavation/backfill, site grading, water, sanitary, and storm pipe experience a plus. Members of field crew ensure projects are implemented efficiently, profitably and to the client's expectations. Working with this position are teams comprised of Pipe Layers, Operators, Lead Operators, Foreman, Senior Foreman, Superintendent, and other Labor Technicians.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Excavate/backfill for pipe, fittings, valves, and other related components Excavate/backfill above ground and underground structures Daily equipment checks, greasing, fueling, and routine site maintenance Daily trench / safety assessments and follow strict safety guidelines. Immediately report safety concerns to Foreman or Superintendent Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors Carry out company goals and adhere to CORE values

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Preferred three or more years of experience in a related position Compensation based on experience and skill sets 10-Hour OSHA & Confined Space training a plus (Preferred)

SKILLS:

Excavating/backfilling for laying and fitting piping (C900, DIP, CMP, HDPE, RCP and SDR35) - fittings, valves, hydrants, thrust blocks, manholes, meters, and other typical water/sanitary infrastructure, building foundations, site grading Understanding of basic surveying tools: auto-level, laser level, pipe laser, and eye level Able to grade within +/- .10' Employ quality control techniques including compaction testing, pressure testing Assist in installation of pumps, instruments, gate valves, and other water hardware Assist with commissioning of completed water and wastewater systems Experience with storm water and drainage is a plus, dewatering, surface restoration, and culvert installation Organized and detail oriented Responsible and professional with good people skills Patience and flexibility are important Willingness to participate in on-going training and workshops Teamwork to carry out common job site specific and company goals, Including working with the team on any task required for job completion

EQUIPMENT USED

Wheel Loader, Skid Steer, Excavator, Backhoe, & Motor Grader Hand and Power Tools Compactors and Jumping Jacks Measuring Tools

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must have a valid Colorado Driver's license, CDL, and required Colorado automobile insurance. Position requires regular vision and normal range of hearing. Employee must be able to lift 80 lbs. Must have manual dexterity. Position involves standing, bending, and heavy lifting a high percentage of the time.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to speak professionally and in a polite manner. Requires ability to adapt to change quickly with ever changing requests.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work as a team or independently and travel extensively. Could be out of town 1-5 days a week on local work. On occasion some jobs could take the employee out of town for a week to 10+ days. Overtime may be required. Must be willing to carry out company goals and policies. May be asked to work flexible hours (nights, weekends) on occasion.
