Summary/Objective:
The Crane Yard Technician is responsible for safely operating cranes and heavy equipment in the yard, performing on/off rent inspections, conducting preventative maintenance, and supporting daily yard operations. This role ensures equipment readiness, safety compliance, and efficient fleet movement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate cranes, forklifts, and haul equipment to load, unload, and move cranes and components Perform on-rent and off-rent inspections and document equipment condition Conduct preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repairs Assist with crane assembly, disassembly, and configuration Support rigging and proper lifting techniques Maintain yard organization and equipment staging Washing cranes as needed Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies Identify and report equipment issues proactively Support general yard duties and logistics as needed
Qualifications:
Experience operating cranes or heavy equipment preferred NCCCO certification (LBC/TLL) preferred but not required Basic mechanical knowledge and maintenance experience Valid driver's license with clean record Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to pass drug test, background check, and fit-for-duty exam
Physical Demands:
Work is performed outdoors and may include exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, dust, and heavy equipment operation.
