Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of construction machinery to facilitate building projects, site preparation, and material handling. Your expertise will ensure that operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your skills in heavy equipment operation and maintenance to contribute to successful project completion. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and dump trucks to perform site excavation, grading, lifting, and material transport tasks. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery and handling materials. Assist with site preparation activities such as clearing land, leveling surfaces, and setting up construction zones. Handle various materials using specialized equipment like concrete mixers, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery as needed. Coordinate with team members to execute construction plans efficiently while maintaining a safe work environment. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities for compliance purposes. Skills Proven experience operating construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, excavators, cranes (including crane operation), backhoes, and front loader trucks. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and general construction site safety procedures. Ability to perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively. Familiarity with the use of hand tools and other construction-related tools for minor repairs or adjustments. Valid commercial driver's license with experience driving trucks such as dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks or similar vehicles. Knowledge of occupational safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites. Ability to interpret technical manuals and operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
