Job Description

Opportunity Overview:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a long-term locum tenens opportunity providing outpatient GI care at correctional healthcare facilities throughout Connecticut. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians looking for a flexible schedule with no call, no inpatient responsibilities, and no procedures .

Epic Responsibilities:
The physician will provide comprehensive outpatient gastroenterology consultations and follow-up care, including: Evaluate new GI consults and follow-up patients Assess abdominal complaints and gastrointestinal disorders Manage chronic GI conditions Review imaging, laboratory results, and prior endoscopy reports Adjust medications and treatment plans as appropriate Provide recommendations for referrals and patient triage Coordinate care for patients requiring off-site procedures This is a non-procedural position with no inpatient coverage.
Patient Volume & Support:
Approximately 10 patients per day Dedicated nursing support Independent practice environment Consistent patient volume
Qualifications:
Board Certified in Gastroenterology Strong outpatient GI experience Comfortable independently managing a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills Ability to practice effectively within a correctional healthcare setting
