401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Neri Building & Development is seeking an experienced Excavator / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. We are looking for a skilled, dependable operator with experience performing residential and commercial site work who can safely and efficiently operate equipment while maintaining professional production standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, understands grades and site plans, and is willing to work outside of the machine when necessary to help get the job done. Responsibilities Operate excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other construction equipment Perform site clearing and general excavation Excavate for foundations, footings, slabs, and building pads Perform rough and finish grading Install and excavate for drainage systems Trench for water, sewer, electrical, and other underground utilities Backfill foundations and utility trenches Prepare driveways, parking areas, sidewalks, patios, and other site improvements Load trucks and move materials efficiently around jobsites Perform demolition and material removal as required Establish and maintain proper grades and elevations Work safely around existing utilities, structures, employees, subcontractors, and occupied properties Perform daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs Maintain clean and organized equipment and jobsites Assist with general construction, site work, and labor when equipment operation is not required Qualifications Previous professional excavator/heavy equipment operating experience required Strong excavator operating skills required Experience operating skid steers and loaders preferred Experience with residential and/or commercial site development Ability to perform both rough and finish grading Understanding of grades, elevations, drainage, and proper excavation practices Ability to read site plans and construction drawings Underground utility experience preferred Experience working around foundations and existing structures Ability to safely excavate in tight or confined jobsites Valid driver's license and dependable transportation CDL is a plus, but not required unless otherwise specified Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a professional construction team What We're Looking For We are looking for an operator who understands site work—not simply someone who can run a machine. The right candidate should be able to look at a project, understand what needs to be accomplished, maintain proper grades, work efficiently, protect the equipment, and produce professional results without requiring constant supervision.
