Job Description

Job Summary Drive a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds. Manages all activities related to operations related to providing supply deliveries, regulated medical waste and recycling services. Responsibilities and Duties Reviews work orders, route sheets, customer requests and records type and scope of service to be performed. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. Maintain logs of working hours, following applicable state and federal regulations. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver supplies, waste, or other materials. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods or collected waste Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs. Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage. Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes. Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary. Remove debris from loaded trailers. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent education 3 years related job experience
