Position Purpose:

The Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies. Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks. Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving. Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation. Performs other related duties as assigned. • Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass road test
