Now Hiring:
Equipment Operators - Heart of Florida Landfill Lake Panasoffkee, FL We are currently seeking experienced, safety‑conscious Equipment Operators to join our team at Heart of Florida Landfill . Prior landfill or waste experience is a big plus , but we're willing to train the right candidate who brings a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Schedule:
5am-4:30pm and 7am-6:30pm | Monday-Friday with and Tuesday -
Saturdays Hours:
45-55 hours per week
Pay:
$24-$28+ per hour DOE Key Responsibilities Perform general maintenance around the site and facility Spread and compact trash using a Compactor Apply daily cover using a Dozer Excavate soil with an Excavator Haul soil as needed Working Conditions Outdoor landfill environment Work near moving mechanical parts Exposure to wet/humid conditions, vibration, fumes, or airborne particles Clean, well‑lit, and ventilated areas What We're Looking For Experience operating a forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferred Ability to learn and safely operate site‑specific equipment independently Willingness to follow PPE requirements and safety protocols Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility to take on new responsibilities Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly Benefits Include Medical, dental, and vision coverage Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Long‑term disability & life insurance 401(k) retirement plan Waste Connections is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer (Minorities / Female / Disabled / Veterans)
