Smith Company, LLC, as an Operator Power Construction Equipment, you'll operate heavy machinery to support construction projects, ensuring safety and precision while restoring worksites to their optimal condition. You ensure quality results in various situations, from storm responses to day-to-day operations. What you'll do Operate diesel or gasoline-powered equipment at job sites and during transit Perform general construction tasks, including physical labor such as lifting materials up to 50 pounds and using hand tools Follow directions to deliver quality work and maintain safe work conditions in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations Restore excavated areas by backfilling trenches, leveling surfaces, and replacing removed materials as directed by the foreman or supervisor Travel for storm response with minimal notice Determine voltages and associated hazards Reveiw and adhere to minimum approach distances Demonstrate positive work relationships with internal and external teams Perform other duties as assigned What you'll need To be 18 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience Valid state driver's license with a minimum of two years of driving experience and an acceptable driving record Six months of supervised equipment operation experience Ability to work effectively in both solo and team environments Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed Ability to work safely in all weather conditions, including inclement weather Strong self-starter with effective communication skills Physical abilities & exposures
