An Operating Engineer or Heavy Equipment Operator drives and operates heavy equipment used in quarries, construction sites, landfills, refuse and recycling centers, or ports. Heavy Equipment may include, but is not limited to, bulldozers, excavators, paving equipment and pile drivers.

Job Duties Operate a yard goat with an automatic transmission. Move trailers in and out of dock doors safely and efficiently. Transport trailers between nearby facilities on public roads. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Verify trailers are clear before pulling away from dock doors. Complete 30-50 trailer moves per shift. Follow all yard, safety, and DOT regulations. Driving Requirements Valid CDL-A license DOT Medical Card FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR 1 year CDL experience (within the past 3 years) No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (within the past 3 years) No DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations (within the past 5 years) Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 lbs. Strong backing skills, including blindside backing. Experience maneuvering trailers in tight spaces preferred.
