The Briar Team seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support commercial and residential construction projects across Northeast Ohio. In this role, you'll safely operate excavators, loaders, dozers, and other earthmoving equipment to complete site prep, grading, trenching, backfilling, and material handling. You'll perform pre trip inspections, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment in top condition. Working closely with supervisors and crew, you'll follow plans, grades, and safety standards to deliver precise, efficient work. Responsibilities Safely operate excavators, loaders, dozers, and related heavy equipment on active job sites. Complete site preparation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and material handling to project specifications. Perform daily pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance; report mechanical issues promptly. Read and follow site plans, grades, stakes, and supervisor directions to ensure accuracy. Adhere to OSHA, company, and site-specific safety policies at all times. Coordinate with foremen, laborers, and other operators to maintain efficient workflow. Maintain clean, organized, and secure equipment and work areas. Assist with loading/unloading materials and basic labor tasks as needed. Document hours, equipment usage, and inspection reports accurately. Participate in training and development to expand skills and support future leadership growth.
