Role:
Croc Line is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Rumble Hog Operator to operate our specialized truck-mounted Rumble Hog. The Rumble Hog is a 3-in-1 machine used to grind pavement markings, groove surfaces for inlaid markings, and cut traditional or sinusoidal rumble strips. This role is critical to improving roadway safety by creating effective visual and tactile alerts for drivers. Precision, safety, and efficiency are paramount to ensuring compliance with federal and state transportation standards; this position requires both operation and hands‑on maintenance of the Rumble Hog as primary duties to ensure reliable and consistent machine performance.
Location:
Stuart, FL — Overnight shift schedule. Regular statewide travel; the company covers hotel accommodations for overnight travel and provides a daily per diem.

Reports To :
Operations Manager Key Responsibilities:
o Safely operate the Rumble Hog (e.g., RH7500 or similar models) for grinding, grooving, and rumble-strip cutting operations on highways, roads, and related surfaces. o Perform pre-operation inspections, daily maintenance checks, and routine equipment care (hydraulics, cutter drum, water system, debris tank, etc.). o Set up and adjust the cutter drum, monitors/cameras, and computer-controlled profiling (CCP) systems for precise cuts according to project specifications. o Control machine functions via in-cab PLC, joystick, and related controls while maintaining accurate alignment and cutting depth/speed. o Manage water supply, debris recovery/dumping (including high-dump or continuous off-loading options), and site cleanup. o Work in coordination with traffic control crews, spotters, and other team members to ensure safe operations in live traffic environments. o Follow all safety protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and company procedures; complete required documentation and daily reports. o Troubleshoot operational issues and report major mechanical problems promptly. o Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with equipment transport between job sites as needed.
Required Qualifications:
o Valid CDL Commercial Driver's License o Clean driving record o Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hydraulic, electrical, and computer-controlled systems. o Competence in maintaining and troubleshooting cutting systems, tooling, and specialized heads; ability to perform adjustments, alignments, and replacement of wear components. o •Mechanical aptitude for pumps, bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, and other moving components; ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs. o Prior experience operating heavy equipment, road-maintenance machinery, milling/grinding equipment, or similar specialized trucks strongly preferred . o Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and equipment manuals. o Physical ability to perform pre-trip inspections, climb on equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods. o Commitment to safety, including knowledge of traffic control, PPE use, and hazard awareness around moving equipment and live roadways. o Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a crew; willingness to travel and work nights/weekends as project schedules require.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience specifically with Hog Technologies equipment (Rumble Hog, Grinder Hog, etc.) or comparable pavement grinding/grooving machines. o Knowledge of rumble-strip standards, pavement-marking removal techniques, and related DOT specifications. o Basic welding, hydraulic, or diesel mechanic skills.
