In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy paving equipment to ensure smooth, durable asphalt surfaces on various construction projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of roadways, parking lots, and other paved surfaces while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on dynamic construction sites, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and construction machinery skills to deliver top-notch results. Responsibilities Operate asphalt rollers and paving equipment with precision to achieve optimal compaction and surface smoothness. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy machinery, including screeds, concrete mixers, and asphalt pavers, ensuring all equipment functions correctly. Assist with the preparation of construction sites by working alongside crews to handle tasks such as concrete forming, rebar installation, and concrete pumping when necessary. Follow safety regulations and protocols diligently, including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, to maintain a safe work environment for all team members. Collaborate with other construction personnel to execute paving projects efficiently, adhering to project specifications and timelines. Use basic math skills for measurements, leveling, and quality control checks during paving operations. Support the maintenance of construction site documentation and logs related to equipment use and project progress. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as asphalt rollers, screeds, loaders, and concrete mixers in civil infrastructure projects. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with bituminous materials, asphalt paving techniques, concrete work, and related construction processes. Valid commercial vehicle or commercial driving license preferred; experience with commercial truck driving is a plus. Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations applicable to construction sites. Ability to work effectively on construction sites in various weather conditions while maintaining safety protocol adherence. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to paving thicknesses, levels, and material quantities. Experience with concrete forming, concrete pumping, rebar installation, and working with paving equipment is highly desirable.
