We're looking for an experienced and dependable Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team in Tampa. This is a hands-on position for someone who pays attention to the details, works safely, and understands that quality matters at every step of the job. You will be responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting equipment and related automation systems, working with sheet material throughout the cutting process, checking finished parts, and making sure work is ready to move to the next stage of production. What You Will Do Set up and operate laser cutting equipment and the load/unload system. Verify the correct material, thickness, and gauge before running parts. Load and run production programs based on work instructions and production requirements. Monitor the machine and cut quality throughout the run and report equipment or quality issues. Check finished parts using calipers and other measuring tools. Unload, sort, label, and organize parts by part number and material gauge. Deburr and stack completed parts so they are ready for the next production operation. Keep accurate part counts and complete required production records. Load and unload sheet material using a forklift or other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Help control scrap, reruns, and unnecessary material waste. Keep the laser, equipment, racks, and surrounding work area clean, organized, and safe. Work with other areas of production, including Press Brake, to keep jobs moving. Follow JSG safety procedures, work instructions, production schedules, and quality requirements. What We are Looking For High school diploma or equivalent. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to read basic manufacturing drawings, blueprints, dimensions, material specifications, and work instructions. Comfortable using calipers and other basic measuring and inspection tools. Basic computer skills for entering and maintaining production information. Good attention to detail when checking materials, part numbers, dimensions, quantities, and finished parts. Able to stay organized and manage work in a busy manufacturing environment. Willing to learn equipment and manufacturing processes and help other team members when needed. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to obtain and maintain JSG-required forklift training and authorization when needed. Required Experience Previous laser machine, fabrication, and manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful: Laser cutting equipment Manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking Automated material-loading or material-handling systems Press Brake equipment Welding Manufacturing machinery or other mechanical equipment Physical & Work Environment Requirements This is a hands-on manufacturing position, and you'll be on your feet for much of the workday. The job regularly involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, and handling production materials. You must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Material-handling equipment or team lifting is used for heavier or oversized materials. The position works around laser cutting equipment, forklifts, moving machinery, metal materials, and normal manufacturing noise. Required PPE and JSG safety procedures must be followed.
