Job Overview A Medium-Duty Tower at our company will be responsible for safely and securely towing units such as but not limited to box trucks, tractors, and transit vans for the traveling public and our private clients. The expectation is to have a Class A CDL, mechanical knowledge, and an ability to work well with team members and customers. Schedule Monday through Friday - 8am to 6 pm On Call - Every other night and every other weekend. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for medium-duty truck operation. Clean background void of all felonies. Live within 5 minutes of either location or have the capability of taking a company tow truck home. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, car towing, or vehicle recovery towing. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Familiarity with flatbed tow trucks and manual transmission operation. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts professionally. Ability to drive safely under various conditions while adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Mechanical experience related to vehicle mechanics for truck drivers is preferred but not mandatory. Responsibilities Respond promptly to roadside assistance requests, including vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and recoveries. Safely operate medium-duty tow trucks, ensuring proper vehicle loading and securement protocols. Perform basic mechanical pre-tripping of company vehicle and communicate it with proper staff members. Load and unload vehicles with precision, adhering to safety standards and mechanical guidelines. Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and customers throughout the towing process to provide updates and ensure satisfaction. Follow all safety procedures related to vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, cargo securement, and safe driving practices for commercial trucks.
